Singapore's Botanic Garden on 25th March, 2018

A favourite spot with giant Amazonian water lilies and bronze sculptures

I've come to the point where I'm looking for an alternative to Facebook. Web mining is ruining the experience for me, as is the absurd propagation of false news, hoaxes and scare campaigns.

So, this is just an experiment at the moment.

Working with a Blog isn't such a seamless experience. Everything is made so much easier for the Facebook user.  Its interface has been carefully designed, that's the seductive aspect of Facebook.

Yesterday I went to the Botanic Gardens, in Singapore, with Catherine, Scott, Victoria, William and Rory McCulloch.

I didn't catch the name of this plant.

Such beauty

Always moved by these blooms and the emerging lily pads

I'll post links to it on Facebook for a while but I think this is where I'll begin posting the types of posts I previously made to Facebook.

I'll leave Maximos' blog: writing in a borderless world as it is. It will continue carrying environmental, educational, political, historical, geographic posts with the usual mix of international relations and global politics as well.

Were it not because I have a publication related Facebook page and also manage one for the IOC-A-RPM, I would drop the Facebook account altogether.

My more contemporary stream of micro-posts can still be found on Twitter.
